Now On Tour

Far - "Pony"

While it might seem impossible to sex up a "classic" Ginuwine song, Far do this with such bravado that the result is anything but a tongue-in-cheek send-up (the usual result of a rock band covering a hip hop song).  Far play at Slim's February 22.

Franz Ferdinand - "No You Girls"

Thanks to the remixing contest accompanying the promotion of the new Tonight album from FF, there are already several remixed versions of "No You Girls" floating around out there.  But the album version, with it infectious bass line and disco-y synths takes the characteristic Franz sound and marries it with the danceability of a Scissor Sisters song.  Franz Ferdinand play the Fox Theater in Oakland April 15, before headlining Coachella.

White Lies - "Death"

If you combined the ethereal nature of an M83 tune (think "Graveyard Girl") with the rock sensibilities of a track from the Killers' first album (think "All These Things That I Have Done"), the result might sound an awful lot like White Lies' "Death."  The Crystal Castles remix of the track is also a must-listen.  White Lies play Stubb's at SXSW, and Slim's in SF April 11.
